Provider Guidelines

In order to ensure that our clients receive the services agreed upon, McLaughlin Young Employee Services requires providers to adhere to the following guidelines.

EAP Services:
  • Assessment and Referral
  • Brief Therapy/Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Crisis Stabilization
  • Problem Solving and Personal Development for Workplace Issues
Sessions:
  • Session models include 3, 5, 6 or 8 sessions.
  • Two sessions are initially authorized for assessment.
Short-Term Services:
  • Additional sessions for brief therapy/solution-focused therapy must be authorized by McLaughlin Young case manager.
  • Service models vary and must be discussed with McLaughlin Young case manager.
Referrals for Long-Term Care:
  • Referrals should be made after the 2nd assessment session.
  • Provider is advised to check the requirements for insurance benefits.
  • Provider should research local resources for the most cost effective referral options in the area.
Self-Referrals:
  • All self-referrals must be pre-approved by the McLaughlin Young case manager.
  • All self-referrals must be made following the initial assessment.
  • Clients must be provided 2-3 additional resources beyond self-referral.
  • It is not appropriate to self-refer after brief therapy is completed. This is a clear violation of the ethical standards of assessing for brief therapy versus long-term care.
  • All exceptions to the above standards must be discussed with the McLaughlin Young case manager.
Paperwork:
  • McLaughlin Young does not reimburse for late cancellations or no-shows.
  • Billing must be submitted within 90 days of the last session date.
  • For reimbursement services, all specified paperwork must be completed and submitted to McLaughlin Young Employee Services.
