Each member of McLaughlin Young Employee Services' clinical staff is carefully chosen based on education and work experience to support the wide scope of its service offerings. Staff must meet the following stringent criteria:

  • Doctorate or master's degree in the counseling field
  • Minimum of five years post-graduate clinical experience
  • State licensure (LPC or LCSW)
  • Knowledge and experience in alcohol and other drug abuse
  • Knowledge and understanding in all areas of Work-Life issues and services
  • Expertise of human resource issues, labor relations and organization dynamics
  • Professional development through continuing education
In addition to the above criteria, staff members are encouraged to have:
  • CEAP (Certified Employee Assistance Professional)
  • LEAP (Licensed Employee Assistance Professional) - only in NC and TN
  • SAP (Substance Abuse Professional)
McLaughlin Young's network of affiliates is also of the highest caliber. Credentialing of providers is not delegated but performed in-house according to the same stringent criteria used for the corporate clinical staff. Documentation of providers' degrees, licenses, vitae, work experience, clinical expertise and liability insurance are monitored and maintained in the corporate office.
