A significant disaster in a community or workplace can quickly
cripple an organization by disrupting coworker relationships,
lowering productivity and increasing both sick leave and employee
turnover. These events are typically sudden, powerful events
outside the range of ordinary human experiences.
McLaughlin Young Employee Services' professional staff is trained
by industry leaders in nationwide Critical Incident Response.
By partnering with over 5,000 behavioral health professionals,
McLaughlin Young brings an immediate response, at multiple
levels of care, to an organization. For the employer this means
a reduction in the negative effects of a critical incident
and a faster return to productivity.
Organizational Briefing - When a critical incident occurs,
McLaughlin Young will provide early crisis intervention within
two hours of the incident. Designed to supplement and reinforce
resilient responses within the individual and the organization,
organizational briefings equip large groups with information
on services available and with the best process for care and
concern. As a result, individuals understand the event, the
impact on both their lives and work and the necessary steps
to strengthen their return to normal living and work productivity.
Recovery Meeting - Within
72 hours of a critical incident, McLaughlin Young will hold
a recovery meeting in a small group
setting. Professional counselors will help a team of employees
process the impact of a critical incident, learn to provide
support to one another and facilitate a return to work and
productivity.
Follow-Up Assessment - For those individuals experiencing significant
distress following a traumatic event, McLaughlin Young offers
individual crisis counseling designed to stabilize individuals,
strengthen their coping skills and support them in their home
and work environments. Referrals may also be made to qualified
affiliates for follow-up care.
TeleRecovery - Immediate telephonic support is available through
a highly specialized, outbound call center service. TeleRecovery
is used primarily in response to robberies where no physical
injury has occurred. Individuals can openly talk about the
event, develop an expectation of recovery and help coordinate
appropriate return to work plans.
